Condition: Poor to fair. No dust jacket. Green hardboard covers with gold text on spine that is faded but readable. The green skin of the cover is torn about 4/5 of the way down the side of the spine, but the cover itself is secure to the leaves. Minor wear to each corner of the cover. Covers are solid green with one dark rectangle on front where a label was removed. Some separation visible between the pages and the cover at the beginning of the book and the title page has come loose; the rest of the pages/leaves are securely bound with no other cracking visible between pages.

A cheap, somewhat battered but definitely first edition (1950) of DIANETICS, the book that led to the founding of Scientology.
